This master piece is by the well known Colombian artist Jaime Pinto (1945 - ). The oil on canvas is signed lower right. Our guess from the 1980's. The dimensions are 27.5" x 39.25"and the original wood frame is 4" wide. He was born in Bucaramanga Colombia in 1945. In vocation self-taught, his artistic career has been demarcated by the ongoing work that has led it to be defined as a master of landscape. Has participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Venezuela, the United States, Colombia Japan, Canada and a score of individual exhibitions highlighting: Gallery Botto and Aurora in Caracas, Promo Art Gallery in Tokyo, Gallery Art Julieta Alvarez and Highway in Medellin. In Bogot Club El Nogal, Fenalco and The Wall.His work has been winning major awards. In October of 1993 the Colombo Japanese corporation with the sponsorship of the Embassy of Japan, has opened its doors to the Colombian artists making an important call. In this contest was awarded the Gold Brush award in the first place to the work of Jaime Pinto.Venezuela awarded him through the Ministry of Education a prize for his plastic work at the National Contest in painting and literature Ramn Daz Sanchez; honorable mention in the 2nd annual Hall of the Navy. Distinctions in the Art Hall Cervantino, in the bag of Art of Bogot, out of competition at the lounge of the Banco Ganadero and in the Rotary Club of Bogota Chico among others.His work can be found in important public and private collections in museums such as the of the Americas in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in the United Nations in Tokyo, to purpose of the Gold Brush award.The art critic and professor Francisco Gil Tovar feels about his work: "The atmospheres that Pinto invents and that do not resemble any other paint made in Colombia, are resolved with a palette that is dominated by the earth colors and with a brush that works vigorously aided by the frottage. The craft of this self-educated painter is able to transmit promptly content of loneliness and the idea that the world can be born or dying in those moments".
